Fishermen Mallory Harrigan, Cliff Russell, and Allan Russell were several miles off the coast of the Labrador Peninsula in Canada when they encountered something truly remarkable. On a mushroom-shaped iceberg drifting through the frigid waters, they found a creature completely out of place.
While aboard their crab fishing boat, Northern Swan, the crew spotted the strange sight about four miles from shore.
Stranded on the ice was an unexpected visitor. Initially, they thought it was a seal pup. “It probably got stuck there while looking for food,” Mallory Harrigan said.
Wanting to help, the crew offered the animal some chips and crackers, but it showed no interest. After regaining some strength, the creature finally accepted sausages.
When they returned to land, the crew released the Arctic fox back into its natural environment, giving it a second chance at survival. This simple act of kindness was nothing short of life-saving.
