She Was the Ultimate ’80s Dream Girl — But Something About Her Today Feels… Off

After her breakout role in Crocodile Dundee, Linda Kozlowski rose to international fame, starring opposite Paul Hogan in what became a defining moment in her career. Yet following the success of the Dundee films and a handful of other appearances, she gradually stepped away from Hollywood and out of the public eye.

Born on January 7, 1958, in Fairfield, Connecticut, Linda discovered her love for acting early on and pursued formal training at the renowned Juilliard School. After graduating in 1981, she began her career on stage, performing in off-Broadway productions before moving into supporting roles on Broadway and television. One of her early highlights included a role in the TV adaptation of Death of a Salesman, where she acted alongside Dustin Hoffman.

Her journey, however, was far from smooth. Following Death of a Salesman, opportunities were scarce, and she took on waitressing jobs before heading to California to chase bigger prospects. During that period, Dustin Hoffman, who had become a mentor to her, offered support by letting her stay at his Malibu home. It was there that Linda began auditioning seriously for roles that would ultimately reshape her future.

Her big break came when she was cast as Sue Charlton in Crocodile Dundee—a role Hoffman had encouraged her to pursue. The film turned into a global phenomenon, earning nearly $320 million from a modest $10 million budget and instantly making her a recognizable name. It first premiered in Australia, where her popularity quickly took off.

Despite her rising fame, Linda felt undervalued in Hollywood and became selective about the roles she accepted, often declining parts that cast her as merely the comedic lead’s partner. Although she reprised her role in the Dundee sequels, she eventually chose to leave acting altogether after the third film.

While filming the series, Linda developed a relationship with her co-star Paul Hogan. The two married in 1990 and welcomed their son, Chance, in 1998. However, their marriage came to an end in 2014.

Following the divorce, Linda embraced a new chapter of independence. With a significant financial settlement, she relocated to Morocco, where she met local tour guide Moulay Hafid Baba. Their instant connection led to both a personal and professional partnership that would transform her life.

Together in Marrakech, they launched Dream My Destiny, a high-end travel company specializing in tailored experiences. Linda traded the glamour of Hollywood for the vibrant beauty of Morocco, building a new life centered on creativity and exploration.

Now in her 60s, Linda Kozlowski has found fulfillment far from the spotlight. Devoting herself to the travel business, she applies the instincts she once used in acting to design meaningful journeys for others—proving that, for her, life beyond Hollywood has been the most rewarding role of all.
