According to Carscoops, which cited the owner’s own account, the luxury hybrid hypercar had only been purchased a week before the disaster struck.
What makes the situation even more shocking is the sheer power of the storm surge. The floodwaters were so intense that they didn’t just enter the garage where the McLaren was stored — they forced the hypercar out of the building entirely and pushed it into the street. Videos shared by the owner on social media clearly show the dramatic scene, with water levels repeatedly rising high enough to reach the roof of the vehicle. In some moments, the depth of the water is estimated to have been at least 1.2 meters, completely submerging the car and surrounding area.
Although the owner has not officially revealed the exact purchase price, reports estimate that the McLaren P1 is worth no less than $1.5 million, making the loss financially devastating. Even more uncertain is the car’s future — it is still unknown whether such extensive flood damage will allow for any kind of restoration or whether the vehicle will be considered a total loss.
