When I moved into an outdated apartment that hadn’t been touched since the early 2000s, most people raised their eyebrows—some even laughed. They couldn’t understand why I’d willingly take on such a worn-out space. But once they saw the transformation, all doubts vanished.
The 76-square-meter apartment had great potential, but unlocking it required serious planning, investment, and creativity. The previous renovation didn’t reflect my taste, so I decided to bring back the original layout, updating it with a modern twist.
One of the first major changes was moving the kitchen out of the hallway. That space now features practical, light-colored washable paint. I added a stylish niche at the entrance with a floating console and mirror for added elegance.
The kitchen and living room were opened up into one bright, functional space. A sleek white linear kitchen lines one wall, next to a round dining table. The cozy living area includes a gray sofa facing the TV and a bookshelf filled with my favorite reads.
In the bedroom, I opted for a comfortable double bed with a soft headboard, bedside tables, and plenty of storage. I even carved out a dedicated dressing area. The second bedroom became a home office and guest space, complete with a fold-out sofa and mirrored wardrobe to enhance the sense of space. A desk by the window gives me the perfect spot to work in natural light.
For the bathroom, I chose glossy blue-gray tiles and coordinated paint that’s moisture-resistant. Swapping a bathtub for a shower was one of my best decisions—efficient and stylish.
What once looked like a questionable investment turned out to be my proudest achievement. With the right vision and a little courage, even the most neglected homes can become dream spaces.
