A small town in Bavaria has been shaken by a horrifying discovery. According to police, the body of a homeowner lay inside a house with a cracked façade for several years. Her daughter continued living there. Investigators are examining suspicions that she kept collecting her mother’s pension after her death.
A quiet street in Rumansfelden, Germany, concealed a grim story. The ivy-covered house appeared abandoned, yet inside, according to investigators, lay the body of a woman born in 1922. The body was found by police in the basement in early February. It was already heavily mummified.

Neighbors say they had not seen the homeowner for about ten years. No one knew where she was. Only when suspicions arose that she might be dead did detectives decide to search the house. Their fears were confirmed.
A Death Without Answers

So far, investigators have not been able to determine the exact date or cause of death. The decomposition was too advanced. However, prosecutors stated that there are no signs of violent death. Even so, the case does not end there.

Police are now focusing on the financial aspect. There is suspicion that the daughter, 82, continued to receive her mother’s pension after her death. She reportedly lived in the house for years as usual. Recently, however, she was placed in a specialized medical facility. Neighbors describe her as withdrawn and rarely interacting with others. One local resident said that whenever she brought food, she was never allowed inside and had to leave everything at the door.
Bavarian authorities are currently investigating the case as possible fraud. If the suspicions are confirmed, it would mean years of unauthorized receipt of government benefits.
