Today’s story highlights a man who took on the heartfelt mission of renovating his mother-in-law’s long-neglected apartment. The space hadn’t been updated in many years and was clearly in need of attention. Without hesitation, he and his wife set out to completely revamp it and surprise her with the result.
Although she was emotionally attached to the original layout and preferred it remain unchanged, she acknowledged that the apartment’s appearance was outdated. To bring their vision to life, the couple brought in a professional interior designer.

In the hallway, they introduced a calming mint hue on the walls and installed terracotta-colored floor tiles. The walls were enhanced with wooden panels and coat hooks, while practical touches like a floating console, an illuminated mirror, and a black ottoman added both style and function. Opposite this area, a spacious built-in wardrobe offered ample storage.

The living area received new parquet flooring and was anchored by a plush gray couch across from a modern TV space. A vibrant orange wall added character, and both open shelving and concealed storage solutions helped organize the space. A cozy extra sleeping nook was added in the back of the room.

One of the couple’s main priorities was maximizing storage, which they addressed with strategically placed shelving and cabinetry along the walls.

In the bedroom, they used two styles of wallpaper to bring texture and interest to the walls. A double bed with a built-in lift storage system was placed centrally, alongside a chest of drawers and a spacious wardrobe positioned across from the bed.

The bathroom and toilet were redesigned as separate rooms. Matching the hallway, the floor featured hexagonal tiles in a warm brick tone. For the walls, a combination of white and gray tiles with a brick-like pattern was selected, and a sleek floating vanity was added for a modern touch.
