The 62-year-old actress received the prestigious award. Jodie won in the category of “Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie.” She was honored for her performance in the film True Detective: Night Country.
Also nominated in this category were Sofia Vergara for Griselda, Cate Blanchett for All the Old Knives, Naomi Watts for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, Cristin Milioti for The Penguin, and Kate Winslet for The Regime.
This was Jodie’s tenth Golden Globe nomination, and it marked her fifth win in her career. Sofia couldn’t hold back when her colleague went on stage to accept the award. Vergara jumped up from her seat and rushed toward the stage. “Oh no, give me one! Just not this again, not this!” she shouted.
Jodie responded to this outburst with a smile. “I know,” she said. At that moment, the camera captured Sofia’s face; she looked very serious for a few seconds, then laughed.
In her acceptance speech, Foster mentioned Vergara. “Another cool thing about my age and being here right now is having the chance to be among all these people, especially next to you, Sofia!” the Hollywood star said.
