Hollywood star Nicole Kidman, with her Australian roots, returned to her homeland for a break from her busy work schedule. The actress showed her down-to-earth side by enjoying a simple beach holiday with her family. She was spotted at Manly Beach in North Queensland, wearing a snug black Rip Curl wetsuit for surfing.
Kidman flaunted her toned and fit physique as she swam in the ocean. The Oscar-winning actress had a memorable moment running along the sandy shore, reminiscent of scenes from the iconic Baywatch series with Pamela Anderson. In the wetsuit, she also evoked the image of a Bond girl. As her hair dried under the sun, Nicole revealed her signature fiery red curls.
Joining Kidman at the beach was her husband, 57-year-old Australian country music star Keith Urban, who wore casual black beach shorts. The musician was seen coming out of the water topless, showcasing his tanned, tattooed body with visible biceps and a toned abdomen. The couple was accompanied by their 13-year-old daughter Faith, Kidman’s sister Antonia, her husband Craig Marran, their 26-year-old daughter Lucia, and her boyfriend Henry Pool.
After their swim, the family relaxed under umbrellas, enjoying some sun. Nicole wore sunglasses and a white hat while her relatives indulged in burgers and snacks they brought along to the beach.
Nicole chose to spend her Christmas holidays with family in Sydney, and the experience brought her closer to her sister following the passing of their mother, Janelle, in September. Kidman learned of the heartbreaking news while attending the Venice Film Festival, where she was being honored for her role in the film Bad Girl.
To cope with the loss, Kidman immersed herself in work. She stars in the series Lioness alongside Zoe Saldana and recently started filming her much-anticipated project Kay Scarpetta. After the holiday break, she will return to her professional commitments.
In a recent interview, Kidman admitted that she almost walked away from acting after the birth of their first daughter, Sunday, in 2008, who is now 16. It was her mother, Janelle, who convinced her not to quit.
“We were living on a farm, and my mom said, ‘I wouldn’t give up entirely. Keep your hand on the pulse.’ I said, ‘No, no. I’m done.’ She replied, ‘Just listen to me. Keep moving forward. I’m not saying you have to do it at the same level as before, but I wouldn’t give it up completely,'” Kidman recalled.
Taking her mother’s advice turned out to be the right decision. In 2010, she received her third Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in Rabbit Hole, and since then, she has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses.
